Notice: Mitzpe has a new operator

As of October 2026, the Mitzpe Institute is an educational program of Atlanta Israel Coalition, Inc. (“AIC”), a Georgia nonprofit corporation recognized as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) (EIN 84-2603211).

This section is the notice we promised under “Business transfers” below. What it means for you:

• The personal information Mitzpe LLC held about you, including your email address, your subscription record, and your account on mitzpe.org, is now held by AIC and used for the same purposes described in this policy.
• AIC does not sell your information and does not give it to third parties for their own marketing.
• Paid billing on the Israel Brief stopped in October 2026. Nothing more will be charged. Memberships are now sold by AIC, at atlantaisrael.org/join.
• You can unsubscribe from any list at any time, or ask us to delete your information, by emailing [email protected].

Who we are

Atlanta Israel Coalition, Inc. (“AIC,” “Mitzpe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website mitzpe.org and publishes the Israel Brief through its educational program, the Mitzpe Institute, which focuses on Israeli security. AIC is a Georgia nonprofit corporation and a 501(c)(3) public charity based in the United States. Mitzpe’s writers and analysts also work in Israel.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit mitzpe.org, subscribe to our publications, purchase our products, or otherwise interact with our services. It also covers information collected through the Flash Brief, distributed via Substack in the Israel Brief section of AIC Dispatch.

By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

Account and subscription information. When you create an account on mitzpe.org, or subscribed to a paid tier (Member, Member Team, or Supporter) before October 2026, we collect your name, email address, and payment information. Those payments were processed by Stripe (via our membership platform); we do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Memberships are now bought from AIC at atlantaisrael.org, under AIC’s own privacy policy.

Mailing address. If you subscribed at the Supporter tier before October 2026, we may have asked for your mailing address separately, to send the annual Mitzpe Press book mailing that came with it.

Contact form submissions. When you use the contact form on mitzpe.org, we collect your first name, last name, email address, subject selection, and message content.

Email correspondence. When you contact us via any of our published email addresses ([email protected] and the others listed on our Contact page), we retain the contents of your correspondence.

Supporter recognition preferences. The identities of Supporters from before October 2026 are held in confidence; Mitzpe does not maintain a public list of them.

Information collected through Substack

The Flash Brief is distributed via Substack, in the Israel Brief section of AIC Dispatch. When you subscribe to the Flash Brief, Substack collects your email address and manages that subscription. Substack’s handling of your data is governed by Substack’s own privacy policy. We receive subscriber email addresses and engagement data (such as open rates) from Substack in connection with the Flash Brief.

Information collected automatically

Usage data. When you visit mitzpe.org, our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the dates and times of your visits.

Cookies and similar technologies. mitzpe.org uses cookies and similar technologies as described in the Cookies and Tracking Technologies section below.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

Providing and managing our services. To create and maintain your account, process subscriptions and payments, deliver publications and analytical products, fulfill book mailings, and respond to your inquiries.

Communication. To send you transactional emails related to your subscription (welcome emails, payment confirmations, renewal notices), editorial communications from the Israel Brief, and responses to your contact form submissions or email correspondence.

Service improvement. To understand how our readers use mitzpe.org and our publications, to identify technical issues, and to improve our editorial and analytical products.

Legal compliance and protection. To comply with applicable laws and regulations, to enforce our Terms of Service, and to protect the rights, property, and safety of Mitzpe, our readers, and the public.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling.

How we share your information

We share your personal information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers. We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, including Cloudflare (website hosting, content delivery, and aggregate site-traffic analytics), Stripe (payment processing, via our membership platform), Substack (Flash Brief distribution), and — only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner — Google (Google Analytics; see “Cookies and tracking technologies” below). These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide their services to us.

Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change by posting a notice on mitzpe.org.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies and tracking technologies

mitzpe.org uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — and similar technologies to operate the site and understand usage patterns. The site presents a cookie-consent banner when you visit, and you can manage your analytics preference through it.

Types of cookies used:

• Essential cookies. Required for the site to function, including session management, authentication, and security. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies. If enabled, these cookies help us understand how visitors interact with mitzpe.org through Google Analytics 4, which loads only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you decline — or never respond — no Google Analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected. When enabled, Google Analytics uses cookies and processes a truncated (anonymized) IP address to produce aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which restores the no-analytics default.
• Preference cookies. Used to remember your choices (such as cookie consent preferences) across visits.

Site analytics. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors read mitzpe.org in aggregate — pages viewed, referring sites, and general location. It sets no cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect or store any information that identifies you individually. Because it processes no personal data and sets no cookies, it requires no consent banner and runs regardless of your cookie choice above.

You can manage cookie preferences through the site’s cookie-consent banner, or by adjusting your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality, including access to members-only content.

Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy:

• Account and subscription data is retained for the duration of your active subscription and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
• Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial reporting regulations.
• Contact form submissions and correspondence are retained for as long as necessary to resolve the inquiry and for our internal records.
• Usage data and analytics are retained in aggregate form and are not associated with individual users beyond the retention periods set by our hosting provider.
• Mailing addresses collected for Supporter book fulfillment before October 2026 are deleted upon request, or within a reasonable period after the Supporter subscription ended.

When your data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it in accordance with our data management practices.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. We honor these rights regardless of where you reside, to the extent practicable.

For all users:

• Access. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction. You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion. You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.
• Opt out of communications. You may unsubscribe from editorial emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional emails related to your account and subscription may continue as long as you maintain an active account.

For European Economic Area (EEA) residents — GDPR. If you are located in the EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

• The right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
• The right to restrict processing of your personal data.
• The right to object to processing of your personal data for certain purposes.
• The right to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
• The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Our legal basis for processing your personal data depends on the context: performance of a contract (subscription services), legitimate interests (service improvement, security), compliance with legal obligations, or your consent.

For California residents — CCPA/CPRA. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:

• The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose.
• The right to delete your personal information.
• The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.
• The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] — our legal desk handles privacy requests. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally 30 days for GDPR requests, 45 days for CCPA requests).

International data transfers

Mitzpe operates in the United States and Israel. If you are located outside the United States, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using our services, you consent to this transfer. Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

Children’s policy

Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 16, contact us at [email protected], and we will promptly delete such information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
